Beet juice is best known as a blood, liver, and kidney purifier. The pigment found in beets is called betaine, a phytochemical with high antioxidant activity. Another benefit of beet juice is that it increases the body's production of glutathione, which is used by virtually every cell in the body as an antioxidant and detoxifier.

Apples and parsley were added since they are also great kidney and liver purifiers.  Parsley contains a strong concentration of vitamin C and is also a good source of vitamin A, B complex vitamins, iron, magnesium, potassium and calcium.

Ginger contains a high level of gingerols, which are powerful anti-inflammatory compounds that inhibit nitric oxide production.  Ginger juice warms the body and promotes sweating, which is not only cleansing but also boosts the immune system as the antibiotic peptide, dermicidin, is released from sweat glands.

I love to use Kale in many recipes since it is a rich source of the phytonutrient lutein, vitamin K, vitamin A, vitamin C, as well as calcium and contains manganese, copper, potassium, iron, magnesium, manganese, vitamin E, omega-3&6 fatty acids, B vitamins, folate and phosphorus.

Cucumber and celery are alkalinizing, hydrating, and anti-inflammatory.  I hope you enjoy this nutritious, hydrating and cleansing tonic!
